Staff Photo by Angela Lewis An efficiency condominium is decorated in Park Place condos on M.L. King Boulevard.

* Name: Park Place condominiums

* Location: 1000 M.L. King Blvd., at the corner of M.L. King and Fairview in the former location of Park Place School near Central Avenue.

* Status: Fourteen condominiums have been completed since building owner Thomas Johnson bought it in 2004. Seven condos remain for sale.

* Prices: Range from $126,400 to $302,500.

* Developer: Architect Thomas Johnson

* Open House: Today from 2 to 4 p.m.

* Contact: Sandy Battles, The James Co. Real Estate Brokers and Development, 313-2788.

* Amenities: The site of the former Park Place School has been renovated and turned into luxury condominiums with great views of the mountains surrounding Chattanooga. The 20,000-square-foot school operated from 1925 to 1963 and later housed a variety of community groups. The red brick building has 12-foot ceilings, heated travertine marble floors and granite countertops. All units also have custom wood trim.

* Other amenities: The condos are just a mile from downtown, minutes from the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and would make ideal accommodations for students at UTC, according to the developer. The condos are also within minutes of the McCallie School, Erlanger, Memorial and Parkridge hospitals. The condos have 8-foot windows and large rooms with oversized walk-in closets. All units have open floor plans and lots of natural light. $10,000 credit from the Lyndhurst Foundation at closing is available.

* Floor plans: Open floor plans range from studio efficiency-sized units to two-bedroom, two-bath condos. Units range from 790 square feet to 2,750 square feet.

* Homeowners Association: Based on size of unit, and start at $134 a month.
